Chümoukedima, April 13 (MExN): All the Ao entrepreneurs and business houses within the administrative jurisdiction of the Dimapur, Niuland and Chümoukedima districts have been requested to desist from paying tax to any group until the goal for ‘One Government’ is achieved.
“Any instance of tax collection/extortion should be brought to the notice of the aforementioned Ao Youth Organisations and appropriate steps will be initiated in coordination with the law enforcement agencies,” the Dimapur Ao Youth Organisation (DAYO), Foothill Ao Youth Organisation (FALT) and Chümoukedima Ao Youth Organisation (CALT) resolved during a co-ordination meeting held at the CALT Treasurer’s residence on April 11.
A press release received here stated that the three Ao youth organisations resolved to co-ordinate, co-operate and support each other for the upliftment and welfare of the community in the three districts. The members also further reaffirmed the 2018 December Declaration by ASTD, DAYO, Watsü and AKTD of the “undivided Dimapur district to ensure rule of law and uphold Ao customary law to ensure justice for its bona-fide members.”
