DIMAPUR, September 13: A two-day International Multi-disciplinary e-conference on “Changing Narratives in the Learning Curves Peri-Pandemic” organized by Post Graduate Studies, St Joseph’s college (A), Jakhama in collaboration with Veda Vignana Academic and Research Centre, Hyderbad and Ochre (India) came to an end on September 11.
Keynote speaker, Raveenthiran Vivekanantharasa of the Open University of Sri Lanka reflected on the theme of the conference and addressed the need for innovative learning in an age of digital learning and enhancing sustainability with quality education. The conference was organized through online mode.
This was followed by the first technical session, where resource person, Dr. Prasenjit Biswas, Associate Professor, Department of Philosophy, NEHU, Shillong talked of a new human predicament that was marked by a perennial state of insecurity where everyone has become wary of one another. There were nine paper presenters during the session on numerous sub-themes and topics. In the second technical session, Dr. J. P Senthil Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, Faculty of Finance, GITAM (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru emphasized that re-learning has become the new norm of learning.
There were 10 paper presenters during the session.
A total of 30 papers were presented by students, scholars and faculty members from various academic disciplines across the country and overseas. The e-conference was attended by around 300 participants.
The technical sessions were followed by a panel discussion that focused on ways and means of envisioning sustainable strategies post pandemic.
The panelists of the discussion were Dr. Ngoru Nixon of Dr. B.R Ambedkar University, Delhi, Dr. Rita Bansal of Amity University, Mumbai, Akshaya Desai of Amity University, Mumbai and Sentilong Ozukum, SDO (Civil), Mokokchung. Dr Mhonthung Yanthan of St Joseph’s College (A), Jakhma moderated the discussion. The conference ended with a valedictory session wherein Rev. Fr. Dr. George Pezalhoukho Rino, Co-ordinator, Post Graduate Studies delivered the address.
Earlier, welcome address was delivered by Rev. Fr. Dr. George Keduolhou Angami, Principal, St. Joseph’s College (A), Jakhama.
