Zale inaugurates village gate at Kidima

DIMAPUR , July 14: Advisor, youth resources & sports, Zale Neikha inaugurated the village gate, “Kidimi Kharu” in the presence of government officials, frontal organisations and well-wishers at Kidima on July 13.

According to DIPR report, while speaking on the occasion, Zale lauded the people of Kidima village for erecting the gate which he said was “an epitome of unity and cooperation”.

He thanked the department of rural development for extending financial assistance not only for the construction of the gate but also for all round development activities in the village.

Zale dwelled on the importance of increasing food grains and its productivity since the village was declared as “vegetable village” by the state government and said such that a tag was unique.

He therefore urged the people of Kidima to put concerted effort in enhancing the agricultural productivity and stressed on commercialisation of the produce instead of adopting subsistence agriculture in order to boost their economy.

He said many a time, public properties funded by government were not well preserved and protected. In this regard, he encouraged building of public utilities with help peer groups and voluntary contributions.

He also urged the villagers to get vaccinated at the earliest in order to avert any eventuality.

BDO, RD block Jakhama, Khovi Thaprü said erecting a gate was not only a pride for Kidima alone but also a pride for the neighbouring villages as well.

He lauded the village leaders working at the grassroots level for showing unity and cooperation on all fronts. VDB Secretary, Kevizeho Rote in his report informed that Rs. 46.70 lakhs was incurred for construction of the gate which was funded by the RD department.

Earlier, KVC chairman Vitsu Rikha chaired the programme while vote of thanks was delivered by KVC secretary Vikedul Kotso. Pastor CRC, Videse Pucho invoked God’s blessing while Neisa Thol proposed the traditional blessing during the inaugural programme. A special song was also presented by Vikenoto Ltu.
