Vax drives continue in various districts

DIMAPUR July 9: District Hospital Dimapur has informed all its staff that in view of various post COVID-19 complications during the first and second wave of pandemic and to put emphasis on management of post covid sequelae, DHD would be starting post covid clinic every Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Medical OPD.

In a press release, MS Dr. Khrielasanuo Metha informed that patients would be assessed by doctors from department of medicine, orthopaedics/PMR and that the specialists would carry out duty on rotation basis.

MS also informed that investigations would be done if required (PFT, ECHO cardiography, chest X-ray and HRCT).

The release informed responsible doctors to reply to call from patients; to call up discharged patients informing about post Covid clinic; to send all reports to patients through WhatsApp; counseling to dispel any fear and to call the patients for review whenever required.

The duration for follow up would be three to six months and nine to 12 months of discharge, MS informed.

Tseminyu SDPDB discusses vaccination drives: Tseminyu sub-division planning and development board (SDPDB) meeting was held on July 8 at ADC’s conference hall, Tseminyu, under the chairmanship of ADC Tseminyu, Manpai Phom.

According to DIPR, the house deliberated on special awareness and vaccination camps for government employees in the sub-division.

It also recommended forwarding of “Shajuchu welfare society” at Nsunyu to the government for registration.

The house decided to organise a mass social work by all the offices on August 7 where every department would adopt and nurture few of the 100 cherry tree saplings that were recently planted in commemoration of the 50 years of Tseminyu new town.

For the coming Independence Day celebration, the house decided to await further instructions from the government. Agenda on upgrading of Government High School, Kandinu was discussed to be taken up in the next meeting.

Vaccination drives at Kiphire: Vaccination drives were carried out at various villages under Pungro administrative in Kiphire district on July 7.

The team led by Dr. Sato vaccinated 12 beneficiaries from Kiuro Village at PHC, Likhimro while 64 people got vaccinated at Khonjiri Village.

Another team led Dr Sato L Hep led a vaccination drive where 27 people from Longkhimong Village and one beneficiary each from Tsurevong Village and Moya Village got vaccinated.

AR conduct programmes on COVID-19: Dimapur battalion Assam Rifles interacted with village elders, chairman and GBs of Dimapur and discussed COVID-19 situation in the district on July 6 and 7 where a total of 86 village elders, chairman and GBs attended the vent.

Kiphire battalion organised medical camp at Tukhinkiu village Kiphire and deliberated on safety protocols of COVID 19 and conducted health check-ups for villagers.

Meanwhile, Kiphire battalion in collaboration with medical staff of PHC Moya village conducted a vaccination drive at Khongjiri village on July 7 where more than 60 residents of Mimi village got their first jab making the total to 66 out of 104 eligible residents.

Jalukie battalion in collaboration with civil authorities conducted mega vaccination drive at Jalukie town on July 7. Altogether, 98 individuals vaccinated and were also provided with other medical help.
