Zeliang expressed gratitude to the BJP President for taking the time to meet for a healthy deliberation. “Our bond and relationship will grow stronger and better in the coming days”, Zeliang tweeted. According to the CM, this will also result in a progressive and a “much developed Nagaland state”.

Zeliang also expressed confidence that if the State elections do take place, the NPF-BJP alliance, along with other DAN partners will sweep the upcoming polls.

In the meeting with the BJP President, it was also agreed to select the team from the respective party and work out the modalities for the seat sharing.

“I am optimistic that everything will be amicably settled at the earliest and the alliance will prosper without any hitch”, Zeliang stated while claiming that with the support and cooperation of the public, “we will again form the next government, a very stable government, and the instability which rocked the 12th NLA will be a thing of the past”.

Zeliang stated that development and progress of the State and solution to the Naga political issue will be their top priority.

As reported earlier, the ruling NPF reviewed its earlier decision and decided to reinstate its ties with the BJP and also go to the February 27 assembly polls in Nagaland with T R Zeliang as its chief ministerial candidate, a party release said here.

The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the Central Executive Council (CEC) of the NPF held on January 23.

The NPF had severed ties with the BJP on July 18 last year but its central office-bearers had on January 15 referred the matter to the CEC.

The BJP had been in alliance of the NPF since 2003.

Interestingly, the NPF CEC also endorsed a resolution of the Nagaland assembly on the solution to the Naga political issue before election which was adopted on December 15 last year.

Zeliang while issuing the statement today on his meeting with Amit Shah had mentioned “that if the State elections do take place, the NPF-BJP alliance, along with other DAN partners will sweep the upcoming polls”.
