Dimapur, Nov 1 (MExN): The 49th General Session of the Tenyimi Union Dimapur (TUD) was held on October 31 at CPO Hall, Chümoukedima.

As the guest of honour, businessman Nibu Naga encouraged the youth to explore new avenues such as entrepreneurship and job opportunities abroad, rather than relying solely on government positions.

He emphasised that Nagaland’s economy is primarily salaried with little productivity or industry, urging the community to pursue “lucrative prospects” through skill development and investment in agriculture.

Sharing his experience as a businessman, Nibu stated that “honesty is the foundation of a successful business,” noting that many fail due to dishonesty.

He also expressed concern over the Nagas’ tendency to seek quick financial gain during elections and called for a focus on sustainable development instead, according to a press release from the TUD.

The TUD acknowledged the contributions of the presidents of all units/hohos and office bearers with certificates of appreciation presented by TUD Joint Secretary, Caleb Kent.

The event featured a presidential address by Vekhosayi Nyekha and special performances by the Chakro Angami Kuda Union, Eli Kekhrowate-u Wetsah, and the Western Chakhesang Union.

A new team of office bearers for the tenure 2024-27 was inducted, with T Rio serving as President and E Anilo Rengma as General Secretary.
