More than 700 cyclists actively participated in the bicycle rally organised by Western Sümi Baptist Akukuhou Küqhakulu (WSBAK) here, Tuesday.
The rally was organised to commemorate WSBAK platinum jubilee on the theme “pedaling miles for peace and back to bicycle”.
While interacting with the media, WSBAK executive secretary, Rev. Dr. Phughoto Sema said that in commemoration of WSBAK platinum jubilee 2022, they would be organising a series of events even in the coming days.
Speaking on the objective of the rally, Rev. Dr. Phughoto said it was organised to promote cycling as an environmental-friendly means of transport as it played a role in protecting the environment while also advocating a healthier lifestyle through cycling.
He informed that in the month of April, WSBAK would be organising a bike rally while on November 14, the organisation would be celebrating Ahuna festival for the whole western Sumi in Dimapur.
The culmination programme of the platinum jubilee would be held on December 11, 2022.
Earlier, the rally was flagged off by Sumi Baptist Akukuhou (SBA) Chumukedima pastor, Rev. Kakheto at Sumi Baptist Church, Chümoukedima.
A total of 250 bicycles along with t-shirts were donated by WSBAK to all the participants.
The rally culminated at Purana Bazar Sumi Baptist Akukuhou East Dimapur.
