Zhadima Village Women Society marks 50th anniversary

KOHIMA, JANUARY 3 (MExN): The Zhadima Village Women Society (ZVWS) commemorated its 50th anniversary with a grand celebration at the Zhadima Community Hall on December 31, 2024. The event was graced by Viliebei-ü Theünuo, Pastoress of AG Church Zhadima Basa, as the keynote speaker.

Delivering her address, Theünuo described the 50th anniversary as a significant milestone, reflecting the journey, growth, and unity of the organisation. She noted that such an occasion is not only a festive moment to celebrate achievements but also a time for reflection and reconciliation.

Theünuo emphasized the need for forgiveness and harmony among members, urging everyone to let go of past grievances and embrace unity. She encouraged the women to seek God’s guidance in all their endeavors and highlighted the importance of faith as a cornerstone for both personal and collective growth.

She further highlighted the need to cultivate a spirit of gratitude and joy, urging the members to thank and praise God for His blessings and provisions throughout their journey. Expressing hope that the anniversary celebration would serve as a catalyst for positive change, Theünuo called on women to take proactive roles in fostering societal progress and development. She stressed that the empowerment and active participation of women are essential for driving meaningful transformations within the community.

The programme was chaired by ZVWS President Zevizonuo Sanchu, and invocation by Kereisie-ü Theünuo. A congregational song was led by Mhasizolie Metsei-o, with Menuolhounuo Sanchu as the pianist.

A moment of silence was observed to pay tribute to departed leaders of the organisation. On the eve of the celebration, floral tributes were laid at the graves of these leaders as a mark of respect.

ZVWS General Secretary Neizonuo Soliezuo presented a brief history of the organisation, highlighting its journey over the past five decades. Neilalhoulie Soliezuo, Chairman, Zhadima Village Council extended greetings, while Roko Angami, VDB Secretary, exhorted the gathering. Neitouü Khoubve delivered the vote of thanks.
