He praised the Wokha Town Council members for successfully completing the construction of the building. He encouraged the councillors and nominees to dedicate themselves to the welfare and development of both the town and district, making the Nagaland Municipal Act 2022 their guiding framework for effective governance.
He urged the Wokha Town Council to maintain unity and collaboration in executing development programs, ensuring inclusivity and setting an example for other municipal councils in Nagaland. He also acknowledged the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, whose vision and commitment were instrumental in reviving the long-awaited ULB elections after a two-decade hiatus. Patton reaffirmed the government’s opposition-less stance, which he explained was aimed at fortifying the Naga political settlement, a vision deeply rooted in the Chief Minister’s leadership.

He called for unity among Naga National Political workers, urging them to come together to achieve a comprehensive political settlement. He highlighted the significance of teamwork and public relations in leadership. He explained that when the public is content with elected leaders, it positively impacts their positions and performance. Conversely, if the public is dissatisfied, a leader’s position becomes irrelevant. He stressed that the Wokha Town Council building should be accessible to the public and that cultivating good relationships with all the colonies in the town is essential. By fostering such relationships, leaders can work more effectively for the community’s betterment.
Addressing the current political landscape in Nagaland, Dr. Murry pointed out that the state government operates as an opposition-less government, with the NDPP and BJP being prime alliance partners since 2003. Other political parties extend outside support. He urged the Wokha Town Council (WTC) office to be accessible and public-friendly, stressing that its primary role is to serve the people. He also reminded all councillors of their critical role in governance, stating that they hold responsibilities similar to those of legislative assembly members, particularly in executing government programs. He encouraged them to familiarize themselves with the Nagaland Municipal Act of 2022.
