Even as unusually long spell of rains, cold weather as well as snowfall continue in several locations in Nagaland, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted more rainfall in the next two days.
The IMD’s five-day All India Weather Summary and Forecast Bulletin issued on February 3 stated that thunderstorm “with lightning and hail at isolated places very likely over Uttarakhand, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal & Sikkim, Odisha, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam & Meghalaya and with lightning at isolated places over East Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura” on February 4.
Likewise, thunderstorm with lightning at isolated places is “very likely” over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura on February 5, the national weather forecaster stated.
However, there were no weather warning for February 6 and 7.
The IMD attributed the current weather condition to the Western Disturbance and its induced Cyclonic Circulation/Low moving east-northeastwards during next two days resulting in high moisture feeding from Bay of Bengal to East & adjoining North-East India.
