The department of Civil Administration Works Division (CAWD) Nagaland accorded introductory felicitation to Kudecho Khamo, Advisor CAWD & Taxes, Nagaland at CAWD Conference Hall, Kohima on April 3.
Addressing the gathering, Khamo expressed happiness to be associated with CAWD to serve the people of the state.
He sought the support and good understanding of the officers in dealing with the works of the department in the coming days. He was hopeful that the qualified and efficient officers of the department would rise to the occasion and take up any level of work.
“Whatever works we give to any contractor or person, we should not compromise with the quality of work,” he said.
Khamo also cautioned that one should not deal with any work that would bring bad name and liability to the department.
“Let us work together as a family. Let us work together as a team,” Khamo insisted. “Our works should be a blessing to all of us.” Our works should be a blessing to the people, to the government and the society,” he added.
CAWD, may be a mere Division but “we are the face of the state and the state government, he said adding “We have a very crucial and important role to play to represent our state.”
Modernization of administrative HQs
The Advisor said that the department will try to take up with the government for the modernization of the administrative HQs. He also stressed on the need to give special focus for Eastern Nagaland and other backward areas of the state.
“Let us see that all the district gets proper attention,” Khamo said.
Khamo also agreed to the fact that the projects/works be taken on need-based.
He was optimistic that Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, who is also in-charge CAWD, would consider the genuine proposals of the department.
Further, Khamo said the NDPP-BJP alliance came back to power with a commitment to serve the people, to bring all round development and to uplift Nagaland to a state of excellence. “We have a commitment to serve our people with all sincerity,” he said adding that quality will be maintained at all level and merit will be given opportunity.
L Jamithung Lotha, Joint Commissioner HQ also spoke at the programme. The programme was chaired by Er Sungtiba Amer, executive engineer, CAWD Nagaland. Kiheto Awomi, DAO invoked God’s blessing while vote of thanks was proposed by Er Elo Khiam, AE, CAWD, Tuensang.
Mentionably, CAWD is the executing agency for all the infrastructural and development works under General Administration (GA) including maintenance of GA assets. CAWD is presently maintaining 1615 nos of both hill types and RCC buildings. CAWD supervises/implements all GA projects in the administrative towns of the State. The projects taken up include office buildings, officer’s residence, GA rest houses and residential quarters for GA staffs in all Administrative centres starting from EAC Hqs upto DC Hqs.
