Will review CSS in Kiphire on Oct 21
Kohima, October 21 (MExN): Union Cabinet Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Parshottam Rupala is on a two-day maiden visit to Nagaland from October 20 to 21.
On his arrival in Kohima today, the Minister held a review meeting with the Advisor for Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services (AH&VS) and Women Resources Development, R Khing, and the Advisor for Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (F&AR), Evaluation, Economics and Statistics, L Khumo along with Department officials from Agriculture, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services and Fisheries & Aquatic Resources at Dzukuo House, Raj Bhavan, Kohima, informed an update from the state DIPR.
Agriculture Production Commissioner (APC) Y Kikheto Sema, IAS, chaired the meeting and PowerPoint presentations were given by the department officials from AH&VS was well as F&AR. This was followed by interaction with the Union Minister.
Minister Rupala assured that he would consider the need based proposals which would benefit the farming community and the entrepreneurs. He encouraged the officials to use modern and scientific technology for the welfare of the people through various programmes of the Ministry, the DIPR stated.
Meanwhile, the Union Minister also called on Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio at his official residence which was followed by a dinner hosted by Minister of Agriculture & Cooperation G Kaito Aye in honour of the Union Minister at Hotel Vivor.
The Union Cabinet Minister will be visiting Kiphire (Aspirational district) on October 21 to review the centrally sponsored schemes and central sector schemes of the Government of India with the Deputy Commissioner and department officials and will proceed for New Delhi in the evening.
