NPF legislator Dr. Chumben Murry said that the formation of UDA government in the state was to have close discussion on the Naga issue and not for power tussle.
With that in mind, the NPF party went ahead for political settlement and not for government formation, Dr. Chumben said.
The legislator said this at the consultative meeting-cum-picnic of NPF Wokha division held at Doyang Hydro Project on January 22.
He said that the opposition less government was a long agenda and discussion within political parties in the State, with the concept to strengthen the long Indo-Naga political settlement.
He further stated that the leaders of the party were working hard to bring settlement at the earliest for which NPF leaders along with chief minister had visited Delhi to fulfil the most awaited dreams of the Naga populace.
Senior vice president (COB) NPF, Tsumongo Ovung in his short message stated that NPF was the second oldest regional party in India and reminded the party workers to be watchful as the state might go for election next year.
Meanwhile, general secretary Women Wing (COB), Grace T Murry reminded party workers to have principle and not to lobby, while CEC, Chobathung Odyuo stated that NPF was the most befitting political party for Naga people and appealed the party workers to have perseverance and endurance.
Various party workers from the four assembly constituencies (37 AC, 38 AC, 39 AC and 40 AC) also spoke on the occasion.
The division has also adopted three point resolutions during the meeting: (i) appreciated leadership of NDPP, BJP and NPF for coming together to form all party UDA with the aim to facilitate Indo-Naga Political settlement in unified stand, (ii) the division expressed confidence and fully endorsed the leadership of chief minister Neiphiu Rio, deputy CM, Y Patton, and leaders of NPF legislative members that they would together bring about resolution to vexed Naga Political issue, (iii) NPF Wokha division also appealed UDA leadership for equal treatment towards NPF legislators to achieve maximum development for the betterment of the Naga people.
