Kanchan Kumar Kandpal, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Tuensang inaugurated project (SAN-NYEK- The third eye), aiming at installation of CCTV cameras and monitoring the town round the clock from dedicated Control Room at SP Office Tuensang on December 20.
Under phase-I of project SAN-NYEK, 15 cameras have been installed in Bazaar area of Tuensang town and a dedicated control room has been set up with a storage capacity up to 6 months.
“Help were extended by Tuensang Chamber of Commerce & Industries (TCCI), Hindu community, Muslim community and well-wishers,” SP Tuensang informed during the occasion.
Kandpal said that ‘this was his dream project since he was posted here as SDPO Tuensang.’ He added that in the next phase other parts of the town will be covered.
“This will not only help in crime prevention/detection and investigation but will also ensure public safety and also it will help to curb issues between customers and shopkeepers,” he stated.
The SP Tuensang extended gratitude to various unions and individuals for their contribution in successful installation of CCTV. He acknowledged Ebisola I Chang, President TCC &I, S L Choudhury Vice President, TCCI, Sanjay Gupta, Hindu community, Puran Chand Gupta, Vice President, TCCI, Dr Aojongshi Chang (VAS), Dr KeviKikhi (VAS), P Bashang Chang,Lanu Sangtam and Tuensang District Truck, Mini Truck & Pick-Up Owner’s Union.
