JAKHAMA, SEPTEMBER 2 (MExN): The Department of Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship successfully wrapped up its “Skill Development for Rural Women through Mobile Skill Morung” project on August 31.
The two-week training program, focused on baking skills, was conducted by Pinnacle Skills, Nagaland, and led by baker Mecieno Kharütso.
The training, which ran from August 19 -31, aimed to empower rural women by providing them with essential baking skills. A total of 25 participants from six villages within the Southern Angami 1 Assembly Constituency attended the workshop, held at the Town Hall in Jakhama.
The culmination event was chaired by T. Zuthunglo Ezung, Regional Employment Officer of Kohima. The program started with an invocation Koleto Richa, Catechist of Catholic Church Jakhama Town. Zakükunu Zao, a participant, shared her experiences, highlighting the positive impact of the training.
Speeches were delivered by Zubemo Lotha Tsanglao, Joint Director of Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, and Kevipodi Sophie, MLA of Southern Angami-1 A/C. Both emphasized the significance of skill development in empowering rural women and boosting local economies.
The event concluded with the distribution of certificates and tool kits to the participants, marking their successful completion of the training. Arenla Kitho, Senior Manager at Pinnacle Skills Kohima Center, delivered the closing remarks, congratulating the participants and encouraging them to use their new skills to improve their livelihoods.
This training program underscores the Government of Nagaland’s commitment to fostering skill development and entrepreneurship in rural areas, celebrating the achievements of these women and their contribution to local economic growth.
