Kohima, March 27 (MExN): The Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) hosted an alumni-felicitation programme for DDU-GKY beneficiary families in Jakhama, Kohima, on March 25.
Delivering the keynote address, Imtimenla, Additional Secretary RD and Mission Director NSRLM highlighted the key achievements of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) in Nagaland. She encouraged the parents to continue supporting the youths to take up skilling and go for placement as the employment in government sector has saturated.
Special guest Kevipodi Sophie, MLA, addressed the significant issue of youth unemployment, emphasizing that skill acquisition is crucial for employability and economic survival. He positioned DDU-GKY as a key intervention in this context. He encouraged other rural youth to leverage on DDU-GKY programme a free placement-linked skill development training programme, highlighting its role in bridging the skills gap and facilitating sustainable livelihoods.
