Traffic diversions for PM Modi’s visit

Dimapur, February 23 (MExN): In view of the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 24, the Commissioner of Police (CP), Dimapur has issued traffic advisory to ensure “Comprehensive Security along the stretch of VVIP route.”

As per the traffic advisory issued by the CP Dimapur, vehicular movement along the highway route from Green Park Junction till 3rd Mile Junction will be diverted between 9am am till 12 noon. No parking of any vehicles/motor cycles/ bicycles will be permitted along or near the VVIP route, it stated.

Vehicles coming down from Chümoukedima towards Dimapur will be re-routed to Sovima via Green Park/5th Mile Junction while vehicles coming up from Dimapur towards Chümoukedima will be re-routed at 3rd Mile Junction via Thilixu/Toulazouma.

It also stated that feeder/approach roads and lanes (leading to the highway) along the VVIP route will be sealed off. Therefore, the public is requested to co-operate and in case of dire emergencies, they may re-route taking the by-lanes.

Further, no vehicles will be allowed to be parked on the stretch from Central Jail road/junction leading to Referral Hospital, it added. 

Meanwhile, in another order, the CP Dimapur stated that in view of the security concern due to VVIP visit, use of any kind of Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) like Drones etc is banned from 3AM to 6PM on February 24.

Conduct of any kind of Firing Practice by Security Forces/ Civil Police/Central Police/ Private Firing Range or any civilian holder of licensed fire arms will also be prohibited during the said period.  

 Bursting of any kind of firecrackers is also banned. 

“As the notice cannot be served individually on all concerned, the order is, hereby, passed ex-parte due to security exigency,” stated the order issued by CP Dimapur Kevithuto Sophie.
