With Christmas festivities in full-swing across Nagaland, Thahekhu village, said to be the largest village under Dimapur district, has been drawing attraction from visitors thanks to its decorations put up across the village for the last several years.

Visiting the village’s Baptist church on Thursday evening, the place had a sizeable crowd, gathered at the premises taking selfies and admiring the decorations adorned all across the area. Capitalizing on this opportunity, several residents had set up small stalls selling food and beverages. Speaking with one of the stall owners, Alina and her sister shared that their sales were positive so far, with weekends being the best.

For a group of church workers however, they mentioned that it was an occasion to share and interact with people coming from across Dimapur and outside to see their village. “We hope everyone has a good time visiting here with their friends and families,” one of them said.
