Talks between GOI and NSCN (IM) to resume in October, says Rh Raising

Rh Raising, a member of the Collective Leadership of NSCN (IM), informed on Wednesday that its political talks with the Government of India (GoI) will resume in October.

When asked about the current status of the ongoing negotiations on the sidelines of the Golden Jubilee celebration of the Council of Nagalim Churches on September 25, he reiterated that the ball is in the GoI’s court. “We have repeatedly said that the ball is in the Government of India’s court.”

Meanwhile, regarding the State Government’s formation of the Political Affairs Committee (PAC), Raising stated that it would act as a facilitator between the Naga political groups and the GoI. 

“They (PAC) will facilitate us; they will not participate in the talks. They will act as go-betweens for the NSCN and the GoI,” he added.

In response to queries’ concerning General Secretary Th Muivah’s health, he stated, “He is getting older, but he remains mentally and physically stable.” 

Muivah, who was scheduled to speak at the jubilee celebration, was noticeably absent at the event. 

However, Raising downplayed any health concerns, stating that the General Secretary has been seeking treatment in Delhi occasionally; however, he is presently in good condition. 

“From time to time he was treated, but as of now, he is in good condition,” he maintained.
