DIMAPUR, JANUARY 3 (MExN): The Sirhima Youth & Students’ Union (SYSU) recently celebrated its golden jubilee, marking 50 years of growth and service. The event, held on December 29, was themed “Half a Century: Towards a Limitless Future,” reflecting the organization’s aspirations for a brighter tomorrow.
The Jubilee Monolith was unveiled by L Singsit, IPS (Retd.), President of Kuki Inpi Nagaland. Rev Lamkholun Singson, Youth Secretary of KBAN, pronounced the dedicatory prayer, while Rev David Vaiphei, ES KBAN, led the invocation and obituary. Seitinngam Singson, Chairman of SYSU, delivered the welcome note.
L Singsit, IPS (Retd), who was the special guest, emphasised the importance of prioritising one’s goals and objectives to achieve success. He encouraged the youth to dream big, persevere through hardships, and make conscious decisions.
Guest of honour, Thangjamang, President of Kuki Students’ Organisation, Nagaland (KSON), released the anniversary souvenir and urged youth leaders to serve their community with love and dedication. He also appealed to parents and elders to continue to be supportive towards the progress of the youths in the society.
Highlights of the programme also included cultural dances by SYSU Cultural Troupe, presentation by Chongboi Singson, General Secretary, SYSU and Jubilee song by SYSU. The Youth Theme was performed by a lyricist and singer, Thangkai Manlun and vote of thanks was given by Kapminlul Chongmun, Convenor Jubilee Committee.
The day session programme came to an end with prayer by Lhunlam Thomsong, Pastor KBC, Sirhima.
The Jubilee night session was graced by C. Singson, Social Worker and Seikhongam Haokip, Director ADP, SAP Application Support APAC, Global Portal and Workforce as special guest and guest of honour respectively. The event also witnessed performances by local Kuki artistes featuring Nengsi Vaiphei, Doumin Khongsai, Kaimang Hangsing and Joseph Thomsong.
