As per the data, 597 positive cases were recorded during the previous week. However, the cases jumped to 732 between (July 31-Aug 6), the highest ever since June 12 this year.

H&FW said that 99% of Covid-19 deaths reported since March this year in the state were those who had not been fully vaccinated while 90% deaths were those who had not received even a single dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

“Although the main aim of vaccines is to break the link between positive cases and hospital admissions/ deaths, it can also reduce transmission to a great extent,” it added.

Only 12% of total cases since March 2021 were vaccinated with a single dose of Covid-19 vaccine which was just 0.32% of the total vaccinated people with at least one dose. Till August 6, the department said that 60 villages in the state achieved 100% vaccination of eligible beneficiaries.
