State level workshop on ‘Office Practices and Library Management’ held in DGC

DIMAPUR, MAY 17 (MExN): A State level workshop on ‘Office Practices and Library Management: Requirements for NAAC Assessment’ was held on May 16 at Dimapur Government College. Jointly organised by the Internal Quality Assessment Cells (IQAC) of Dimapur Government College and Unity College, Dimapur under the Professional and Development Programme for non-teaching staff, the workshop was attended by non-teaching staff from 24 colleges all over the State.

Principal of DGC, Professor Sanjay Sharma, speaking in the inaugural session, laid emphasis on the importance of good office practices and library management. Such workshops were required not only for non-teaching staff but also for faculty and administrators of higher educational institutions as well, to be better equipped for NAAC assessment. He congratulated the organising team and expressed hope that the workshop would be a fruitful one.

At the first session, resource person Niketu Siam, Senior Librarian, DGC spoke on the topic ‘General Library Operations.’ During the second session, resource person Ashok Kumar Jain, Senior Head Assistant, DGC spoke on the topic “Office Procedure and Management.” On the third session, resource person Martha T, Coordinator, IQAC of St. Xavier College, Jalukie spoke on the topic “Finance and Accounts.” The rapporteurs for the workshop were Dr Tabussum Khan, Asst Prof and member IQAC, Unity College, AzunglaImsong, Asst Prof and member IQAC, Unity College and Selina Walling, Asst Prof and member IQAC, DGC.
