VVIP guest house inaugurated at Police Complex Chümoukedima

Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Home & Border Affairs, Y Patton on Friday stated that the Nagaland State Government has been committed towards infrastructural development in Nagaland on top of upholding “transparency and sincerity.”
The Minister mentioned this during the inauguration programme of a newly constructed VVIP guest house at Police Complex, Chümoukedima on Friday, August 11. He viewed that over the years, the state has been in a bad shape as it does not possess state of the art facilities to accommodate prominent personalities coming from outside.
As such, he added that this was a much needed space for the people of Nagaland in general and the Police Department in particular after a long wait. Moreover, he regarded it as another milestone for the state as it has been witnessing significant inaugurations of infrastructural developments. “This VVIP guest house is especially meant for accommodation of VVIPs coming from outside the state,” he said.

At the same time however he added, “With the inauguration of this guest house, I am sure that the people from all walks of life would avail the facilities with great comfort and satisfaction.”
Patton also made an appeal to the people of Chümoukedima to cooperate with the concerned authorities to ensure a peaceful environment in the district so as to usher in more development.
The overall cost for constructing the guest house was to the tune of Rs 7, 37, 41,000 funded through the State Plan 2019-20 to 2022-23. Er Hutoshe, EE, PEP CMD while highlighting the technical report shared that the date of commencement of work was February 2019. The total plinth area of the building was 23,067 Sqft.
As for the number of rooms, it includes 12 bedrooms, 2 VVIP suites with self pantry, 3 VIP suites, 7 normal suites, 1 mini conference hall, barrack for security, a common kitchen, dining hall and store room.
The contract work for the project was awarded to the firm, M/s Ace Construction class-I contractor NPWD.
The Deputy CM was accompanied by BJP legislators Jacob Zhimomi, Imkong L Imchen, Kazheto Kinimi, Bashangmongba Chang, Sethrongkyu Sangtam and Kropol Vitsu.
NE DGP Conference to be held in Chümoukedima
In addition, Patton announced that the next North-East Regional Conference of DGPs is scheduled to be held in Chümoukedima in the coming months. Earlier, the conference was supposed to have been organised in Manipur but with the ongoing situation there, Chümoukedima district in Nagaland has been chosen as the next location.
For this, the Ministry of Home Affairs has provided sufficient funds for the construction of officer’s mess and other facilities to accommodate at least 70 officers from the visiting states, he informed.
