State BJP adopts 3-pt resolution; backs Naga peace process

DIMAPUR , September 24: BJP Nagaland unit has supported and endorsed the positive direction and pace with which the Naga peace process was taking place under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah.

This was resolved at its State Office Bearers (SOB) meeting held with State morcha presidents and general secretaries at the party’s State head office, Kohima, on Thursday in the presence of State president Temjen Imna Along and also adopted a three-point resolution.

The party resolved to the Naga peace process and subsequent formation of United Democratic Alliance (UDA) government.

The party also affirmed the resolution for Naga political settlement adopted on August 27, 2020, which was reaffirmed at the State Executive meeting held at Dimapur on April 17, 2021.

BJP Nagaland unit also resolved and pledged to extend its unconditional support to chief minister Neiphiu Rio and deputy chief minister Y Patton for their “far-sighted vision” for the greater cause of the Nagas, which ultimately resulted in the formation of the historic opposition-less government UDA.

The party expressed its sincere gratitude to chief minister of Assam and convenor of NEDA Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma for his magnanimity and positive role in the Naga peace process.

Further, extending a warm welcome to Centre’s new interlocutor AK Mishra and governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi, the party expressed the confidence that with their wisdom and political acumen, the pertinent Naga political issue would be brought to a peaceful settlement.
