Dimapur, March 11 (MExN): A free health camp for women in Nagaland was initiated by You & Health team and organised by Women Entrepreneurs Network Nagaland (WENN) at Beauty barn, Dimapur on March 8.
The health camp was organised as part of the International Women’s Day celebration, as per a press release received here on Friday. The release stated that around fifty women benefited from the free health camp as they were facilitated through the process of screening, testing, consultation, diagnosis, and treatment. The health camp offered services in Physiotherapy and Medical Nutrition by healthcare professionals from Nagaland Multi-Specialty Health and Research Centre: Dr Tiatula (PT), Dr Inavika Swu (PT), Dr Soni Phom (PT), and Zuthunglo Odyuo (Clinical dietitian) who together constitute the You & Health team. Additionally, Dermatologist Dr Sutsungkokla Imchen, consultant at Nikos Hospital rendered her service, it said.
Championing menstrual health on this occasion, free sanitary napkins were distributed by Boditive- Nagaland’s first sanitary pad brand, the release stated.
According to the release, the health camp was a collaborative effort spurred by the collective vision to promote health and wellness for women. The You & Health team shared that their mission is to educate and spread awareness about diet and physiotherapy, which can help manage and prevent numerous health problems. As the venue partner, Beauty Barn is noted for promoting self care and its proprietor Toina Kinimi shared that Beauty Barn was started in 2017 to help customers discover the best of Korean skincare, beauty and advanced skin care routines.
WENN is a network of women entrepreneurs in Nagaland to voice, collaborate, and influence the Entrepreneurial system to create a more enabling environment for women entrepreneurs in Nagaland, it said.
For WENN, in recognising the need for holistic healthcare of women entrepreneurs and their employees, and actualising it through the health camp has been a worthwhile experience as validated by the positive feedbacks received. Aboli, head Artisan of Runway, shared that she learnt about benefits of Physiotherapy for the first time, and Ayang Sangtam staff of Naga Bowl Express expressed gratitude for receiving free professional treatment for her skin problem, the release stated. Other attendees consulted the clinical dietitian to treat diet related conditions.
Meanwihle, the release stated that WENN looks forward to supporting and organising more constructive programmes for women entrepreneurs in Nagaland.
