Southern Angami Youth Organization (SAYO) has appealed to the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) to promptly repair National Highway-2 stretch between Naga Heritage Village, Kisama and Khuzama Police Check Post.

In a letter addressed to the NHIDCL general manager, SAYO president Metekhrielie Mejura and general secretary Metevizo Sophie stated that NH-2 stretch was in deplorable condition causing inconvenience to the general public and commuters.

SAYO said that the NH-2 stretch from Kigwema to Khuzama Village has been left in a dilapidated state for a long time. It also said that the stretch from Jakhama till Khuzama village was in a hazardous state making driving unpleasant and unsafe for drivers and commuters.

SAYO said that the company was entrusted with the task of improving and maintaining road connectivity to enable efficient and safe transport.

Therefore, SAYO has urged the NHIDCL said the concerned contractors to take prompt remedial steps and expedite the repairing works at the earliest.
Meanwhile, SAYO has also appealed to the state government to intervene and address the matter for the welfare of the public. It has, however, cautioned that the concerned agency would be liable if any accident or untoward incident occurred due to hazardous road condition.
