DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 11 (MExN): The Science faculty of Sao Chang College organised an educational field trip for their students on September 9. The field trip took place at the Farmer Innovation Centre, nestled in the picturesque location of Angangba, Tuensang.
The formal Progrmme was chaired by Sungmo Kundang BSc 1st Semester Student. Sochemlemla, B.Sc 3rd semester student welcomed all the Science Students, Science Faculty, Lab Assistant, Lab bearer and all others in the programme while Dipak Nath, Head ,Department of Physics, Sao Chang College highlighted the importance of Field Trip. In his speech, he mentioned that the purpose of this trip was to provide students with a unique and immersive learning experience.
Dr. Limamanen Phom, Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology instructed the students about different project to be undertaken. Formal Programme was ended with benediction.
During the field visit in and around the Farmer Innovation Centre, the students had the invaluable opportunity to engage in hands-on practical activities, allowing them to delve deep into the fascinating world of flora and fauna diversities. They observed, interacted with, and learned about the rich biodiversity of the region, gaining a profound appreciation for the natural world.
Furthermore, the field trip included on-the-spot soil and water analysis, which allowed the students to apply their scientific knowledge in real-world scenarios. They collected samples, conducted experiments, and analyzed the soil and water properties, enhancing their practical skills and understanding of environmental science.
The trip not only broadened the students’ horizons but also instilled in them a deep sense of curiosity and appreciation for the wonders of the natural world, leaving a lasting impact on their academic journey and future scientific endeavours.
All together 16 science students, 7 faculty, 2 lab assistant, 2 lab bearers and 1 sweeper took part in the Programme.
