Cautions of agitation of order not rescinded within 3 days
Dimapur, September 19 (MExN): The Rising People’s Party (RPP) today expressed strong opposition to a notification from the Principal Director (PD), Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, Nagaland allegedly directing Chief Medical Officers (CMOs)/Medical Superintendents (MS) of all the districts to assist BJP medical camps to be conducted from September 19 to October 1.
As per the letter dated September 17, the H&FW Minister Pangnyu Phom and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nagaland, directed the PD, H&FW Department to issue the direction, the RPP asserted.
In this connection, the RPP reminded the Minister and BJP Nagaland that the order is “illegal and unconstitutional.”
The H&FW Department is not an extension of the BJP party apparatus nor are the CMOs/MS/employees of the health department party karyakatas (workers) that the BJP can give directions or utilise the department’s service at will, the RPP stated.
If the BJP Nagaland wants to organise medical camps it’s free to do so with their own resources and their own paid doctors or approach charitable bodies like Lion’s Club and Rotary Club, it suggested.
There’s a limit to everything and if the Principal Director’s notification is not rescinded/withdrawn within 3 days, the party will resort to agitation, stated the RPP in a press release issued by President Joel Naga and Vice-President, Vitho Zao.
The RPP also called the “outrageous and condemnable maneuvering” by his own cabinet colleagues and alliance partners as undermining the authority of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio. It also portrays the picture that the CM is now a mute spectator with no real authority, it noted.
The unacceptable letter should be withdrawn within the stipulated time, the RPP reiterated.
