Mokokchung, 31 July (MExN): In an innovative collaboration, the Yimyu Ward Sanitation Committee collaborated with the Yimyu Baptist Church to host a thought-provoking awareness program on sanitation, which was held under the theme ‘Wash Yourselves, Make Yourselves Clean’ – Isaiah
1:16. The theme speaker for the programme was Akok Walling.
Addressing the congregation, Akok Walling emphasized the importance of a clean soul and morality, drawing wisdom from the biblical verse Isaiah 1:16. He lauded the Sanitation Committee for organizing such a program, emphasizing that the essence of cleanliness needs to be instilled in all aspects of life, including spiritual and physical well-being.
The event delved into the significance of holistic cleanliness, encompassing the soul, life, and health, as urged in 1Thessalonians 5:23. Akok Walling urged the attendees to prioritize their health and recognize the connection between physical and spiritual cleanliness.
With compelling examples from the past and the present, he highlighted the relevance of sanitation in today’s world, especially in the wake of the COVID pandemic. From domestic to agricultural waste, he stressed the need to rid oneself of all unnecessary baggage that hampers a healthy life and spirit.
Aolepden, Chairman of the Sanitation Committee, extended a warm welcome to all participants and underlined the importance of embracing a healthy lifestyle. He expressed the Committee’s determination to foster a cleaner ward while encouraging the public to actively support their efforts.
A painting competition was also organized by the Child Department of Yimyu Baptist Church, in collaboration with the Sanitation Committee, where prizes were awarded to talented young artists.
Puryapang, Pastor, Yimyu Baptist Church, offered a prayer invoking blessings upon the Sanitation Committee for their unwavering commitment to creating a cleaner and healthier environment.
