Correspondent MOKOKCHUNG, OCT 21 (NPN) : Basic training on skill development under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) support activity was organised by Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) Mokokchung Wednesday at Sangtemla Ward Hall, Mokokchung.
Resource person, PHED Mokokchung SDO, Imtiyanger T Imchen said the main objective of the training was to impart basic skill and know how about the process of implementation/maintenance of the JJM to the members of the village council and WATSAN (water and sanitation committee). He said the mission aims to provide free and clean drinking water to all households by 2024.
Er. Imchen said the department would only monitor and supervise with logistic, financial and material support and that village councils and WATSAN members have to ensure implementation, maintenance and success of the mission.
He then said that basic development training on electrification, plumbing and masonry, welding system and pumping machine system was requisite chain of mechanism for smooth water supply. The master trainers were – Pokti (electrification), I Wati Jamir (plumbing and masonry), Yarenba (welding system) and Jongpongwati (pumping machine system).
Altogether 78 trainers from 35 villages from Ongpangkong North and South, Kobulong, Chuchuyimlang and Changtongya blocks attended the training.
