The second edition of ‘Food for Spiritual Growth’ by Kakheli Inato Jimomi was released here, this morning at WSBAK Centre, Aküvüto.

The 70th publication of PenThrill, the book launch was attended by family and well-wishers.

Releasing the book, Rev Dr Phughoto Sema, Executive Secretary WSBAK described the author as a woman of “faith and action.” While professing that writing is not an easy task, Sema said that this is not just a book, but “a gospel,” where the readers will enrich their faith and grow a deeper spiritual life.

Appreciating the many contributions of the author in different capacities, Sema wished that the book will be a blessing not only to the readers, but to the writer and the publishing team as well.

In her author’s note, Jimomi said that the book is written from her personal experience and relationship with God, the challenges, traumas and the spiritual battles that she fought along the way.

Acknowledging the people that pushed her to come up with the second edition, Jimomi also shared one remarkable account of a women pastor in a small church. The woman had told her that she is a pastor today, “because of your book.”

The 120-paged book, priced at Rs 300 is divided into two parts. The first part contains the ‘spiritual food’ and the second part contains meditation for 31 days, which comes from her daily life challenges, said Jimomi. She prayed that each reader will experience God’s “mighty love” through the book.

Expressing joy that the first edition was all sold out, she hoped that the second one would be a success too. Jimomi also mentioned that the profit that she gets will go towards the charity for underprivileged children.

Vishü Rita Krocha, Publisher, PenThrill Publication said that the first edition was released in 2014, a few months after PenThrill was formally inaugurated and it has been a wonderful journey together. She said that the first book did extremely well with demand for the book over the years. She was glad the author has been able to work on a revised edition.

With the State just having witnessed the assembly elections and from the “many stories of betrayal, the lack of loyalty across different party lines, amongst voters and many of whose votes were bought, people who actually think there is nothing wrong in making some money out of the elections,”

Rita said that the timing of this book could not have been more perfect. She said that as Christians, all of us need spiritual food and nourishment, and especially at a time like this when the Naga society has broken into fragments. She expressed hope that this book will play “a significant role in reshaping our spiritual wellbeing and unravel the blessings that are in store.”

Earlier, Dr H Inato Jimomi, husband of the author gave the welcome address, while Vilika Zhimo presented a song. Invocation was said by Rev Tovishe Sema and benediction by Esther B Yepthomi. The programme was chaired by Litaholi S Zalipu.
