“Our village is a reflection of our heritage, our culture, and our identity. It is a place that has nurtured us, shaped us, and given us the values that we hold dear. Therefore, it is our responsibility to ensure that we preserve and enhance the beauty and essence of our village for generations to come,” said MLA Ar Jwenga Seb while addressing the 1st general body session of Tesophenyu Village Fraternity (TVYF). The session was held under the theme “My Village, My Responsibility” at Tesophenyu village in Tseminyu district on December 27.
Seb maintained that youth are the torchbearers of change. “We have the energy, the passion, and the determination to bring about a positive transformation in our society. It is in our hands to address the challenges our village faces, be it in the areas of education, healthcare, infrastructure, or environmental sustainability,” he said.
Stating that education is the cornerstone of progress and it is the duty of the youth to ensure that every child in our village has access to quality education, Seb said “We must strive to bridge the gap between urban and rural education, providing equal opportunities for all. Let us volunteer our time and skills to mentor and tutor those in need, empowering them with knowledge and igniting their potential.”
Stating that healthcare is another critical aspect that demands the youth attention, he said “We must work towards establishing better healthcare facilities in our village, ensuring that no one is left behind due to lack of access to medical services.” He challenged the youth to organize health camps, spread awareness about preventive measures and advocate for the well-being of the community.
‘Infrastructure development is vital for progress of any society’
Infrastructure development is vital for the progress of any society, Seb said, “It is our responsibility to identify the needs of our village and work towards fulfilling them. Let us collaborate with local authorities, engage in community-driven projects, and strive for the betterment of our village’s infrastructure, be it roads, sanitation, or electricity.”
“Our village is blessed with natural resources, and it is our duty to protect and conserve them. Let us promote sustainable practices, reduce waste, and actively participate in initiatives that aim to preserve our natural heritage,” he said.
He also stated that it is not enough to merely discuss and debate and stressed on the need to take action.
“Let us be proactive, innovative, and resilient in our pursuit of a better future for our village,” Seb said.
Stating that he has complete faith in the potential of the youth, Seb said “Together, we can create a village that is prosperous, inclusive, and sustainable. Let us embrace our responsibility and work towards a brighter tomorrow.”
