Surveillance team finds presence of Dengue & Japanese Encephalitis vector

Mon, July 15 (MExN): State National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme, Kohima reviewed NVBDCP programme Implementation in Mon district from July 10-12. 

The team was headed by by Director & SPO (NVBDCP) Dr R Chubala Aier & team. A Press release informed that Entomological Team also carried out Vector Surveillance in the District where the Vector for Dengue and Japanese Encephalitis were found to be present. It said sentinel Surveillance site hospital for Dengue has also been set up where confirmatory test for Dengue is available.

The performance of Surveillance workers were individually assessed and overall performance of district was reviewed. During ongoing observance of Anti-Dengue month i.e. in the month of July, the District authority and staffs were highlighted on the activities to be conducted.

The staffs were asked to work diligently and be in their posting place to ensure that all logistics and anti- malarial drugs are available in all the health Units at all times. It was also stressed that all migrant population are screened for Vector Borne Diseases. The findings were also highlighted to DC Mon & necessary action to be taken by the administration in collaboration with the department was discussed.
