‘NSSB examination has positively impacted people of Nagaland’

The success of the Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB) examination has serve as the testament to the government’s vision of promoting meritocracy and fostering a culture of honesty and transparency, said Asenla Jamir, LDA, Nagaland Information Commission, while referring to Combined Staff Recruitment Examination 2022 conducted by NSSB.

Speaking on behalf of the successful candidates of NSSB during the felicitation programme and distribution of 587 appointment orders at Capital Cultural Hall Kohima on August 30, she maintained that the success of Nagaland’s first ever NSSB examination has positively impacted the people of Nagaland.

Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio handed over 587 appointment orders to NSSB successful candidates at the programme.

“We are living in a time where the pursuit of success is often mark by concerns of bias and unfair advantage. However, our government’s commitment to ensuring fair and transparent recruitment process by setting up the NSSB is a beacon of hope,” Jamir said.

The transparent selection process has instilled confidence and re-enforced our belief that hard work, dedication and perseverance truly pay off,” she said and thanked the state government.

Also congratulating the fellow colleagues for their hard earned achievement, Jamir said “Together, let us continue to strive for excellence and contribute to the growth and progress of our state.”

‘Qualified new recruits will bring fresh energy to accelerate process of transformation’

Nagaland Chief Secretary, J Alam said “This event (Felicitation of the NSSB successful candidates) is the culmination of an enormous collective effort of the government, civil society as well as student bodies to make the vision of a common examination system into a reality. Many institutions and individuals have contributed and collaborated in one form or another towards achieving this.”

Extending congratulations to all the candidates, he said “Your selection on merit will give enormous confidence and motivation to you to serve our state and its people with the highest standards of integrity, honesty and dedication.”

The Chief Secretary said that in the recently concluded examination conducted by NSSB, the success rate of male against female is at a ratio of 70:30.

Alam was hopeful that the qualified and technology savvy new recruits will bring fresh energy to accelerate the process of transformation in government functioning.

Stating that holding today’s felicitation programme for the new recruits was the first of its kind in Nagaland, he subscribed that such programme was a testament to the state government’s commitment to the vision of an empowered and inclusive society, the commitment to provide equitable opportunity and a level playing field for its citizens and the commitment to give a strong impetus to growth and job creation.

‘NSSB is transparent, equitable, meritocracy based recruitment examinations’

Alam informed that the constitution of NSSB in 2020 is one of the most significant and farsighted decision taken by the state government under the visionary leadership of the Chief Minister to provide a transparent, equitable and meritocracy based recruitment examinations for government employment at the middle level.

The NSSB is mandated to conduct recruitment examinations to Group-C posts under the State Government, he said.
With the appointment of the Chairman, Members and other officials, the office of NSSB was formally inaugurated by Chief Minister of Nagaland on 25th August 2022.

Call for strong, resilient Nagaland through meritocracy

Nagaland Tourism & Higher Education Minister Temjen Imna Along look forward that one day all the workers of the state, all officers of the state and all the people of the state will go by the decision of the merit, which will build a strong and resilient Nagaland.

He congratulated the NSSB team for their dedication and hard-work in successfully conducting the first NSSB examinations. He urged all the successful candidates to work relentlessly and serve the people and learn to be humble and dedicated in their work.

NSSB chairperson, Sedevikho Khro said that a total of 50, 583 (26,525 male and 24,058 female) applied for NSSB Combined Staff Recruitment Examination 2022. 

Khro gave a brief insight into the struggles and tireless efforts of the NSSB and how with the relentless support of the Government led by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, the Board was able to successfully conduct the first ever NSSB Examinations. He assured that the NSSB would remain steadfastly committed to the recruitment policy based on merit, justice and transparency.

Earlier, the felicitation programme also witnessed performances from Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA) and Senti & Hopong. State chaplain Rev TW Yamyap Konyak invoked God’s blessings while vote of thanks was proposed by Asenla Keitzar, Commissioner & Secretary P&AR, Nagaland.
