‘No prospect without good reflection’: Mmhonlumo

Mmhonlumo Kikon today stated that there is no prospect without good reflection while juxtaposing Nagas history to the present. He said it is time to envision the kind of leaders we want in our society- leaders with political wisdom, knowledgeable and thought leaders to lead Nagas just as history had personalities who gave the present generation a prospect of what we are today.

The Advisor, IT, Science & Technology and NRE, Government of Nagaland was speaking as valedictory guest during the 29th Biennial General Conference of the Angami Students’ Union at Heritage Village Kisama on April 25 evening.

The Advisor took reference of important personalities in the past of whose insights and sagacity has brought Nagas to where we are today.

Kikon therefore stated that we need to prioritise yesterday as history and reflect on important past personalities.

Calling the present juncture and the time as drastically changed, he however said that the time for us is now to develop the fullest potential, he also called the attendance to reflect on one’s contribution in any sphere of society and also think of why past leaders led our Naga society.

He reminded the role of young informed generation that the future will be built on our dreams and that our critic of the present should be followed by our contribution for the betterment of the Naga people and for permanent peace to prevail.

The programme was chaired by Dievi Yano, Vice President, NSF. Dr Kedozeto Punyü, President, Angami Gazetted Officers Krotho delivered greetings and Rev Fr Arul Susai, SJ Parish Priest, St Paul Catholic Church, Phesama prayed for the congregation.

Nakhro to lead ASU office for 2021-2023
Bisevi Nakhro from Jotsoma Village, Western Angami Students’ Union (WASU) will be leading the office of the Angami Students’ Union (ASU) as the President, Kevilelhou Zumu from Northern Angami Students’ Union as Vice President and Mhalevilie Medoze from Chakhroma Students’ Union as the general secretary. After the dedication of new office bearers, Outgoing President Vizokho Zashümo and newly elected President delivered speeches. The 30th session of the ASU general conference will be hosted by the Northern Angami Students’ Union.
