Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs requested for special consideration to proposals submitted
Kiphire, January 16 (MExN): Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs, Durgadas Uikey had a meeting with various local leaders, administrative officials and other officials at Deputy Commissioner conference hall, Kiphire on January 13 last.
A DIPR report received here stated that the DC Kiphire, Temsuwati Longkumer requested that special consideration be given to the proposals submitted by Kiphire Aspirational District. He pointed out that “during the period 2023-2024 and 2024-2025, no allocation of fund had been extended from the Ministry of Tribal Affairs for Kiphire, despite being an ‘Aspirational District’.”
The Union Minister of State interacted with the local leaders, stakeholders, and departmental officials, reviewing the progress of key developmental initiatives and projects in the district which reflect the Government’s commitment to address the needs of the communities, and on-going initiatives and challenges in the development of tribal areas, as well as to explore new avenues for collaboration in the district.
SP Kiphire, Chinese Chakhesang appraised for the establishment of a model women police station equipped with modern facilities at Kiphire HQ.
On behalf of four tribes residing in Kiphire, namely Sangtam, Yimkhiung, Tikhir, and Eastern Sumi, the United Sangtam Student’s Conference (USSC) and United Sangtam Student’s Likhum Pumchi (USLP) submitted a memorandum to the Union Minister of State.
ABF NITI Aayog Kiphire, Sukanya, presented some success developmental works under taken at Kiphire Aspirational District. Vote of thanks was delivered by Deputy Commissioner Kiphire while EAC Kiphire HQ, Takatemjen Pongen NCS, moderated the programme.
GHS Yangphi Kiphire Town
A part of his tour, the Union Minister for Tribal Affairs visited PM SHRI Government High School Yangphi, Kiphire Town on January 14. He inspected the library project and Smart Class Rooms under NagaED & KeyED and had a brief interaction with the teachers, wherein he asked about the progress collaboration for both boys and girls students. The institution submitted a proposal for improving the school’s approach road to the Union Minister.
EMRS in Kiphire
During his visit to Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) in Kiphire on the same day, the Union Minister advised the Department concerned to set up a construction committee, wherein the members should monitor the construction project for quality works and for completion of works without delay. The Minister directed the Planning Department to give timely update on the progress of the construction works to the District Administration.
Food Processing Unit at Amahator
The Union Minister visited the Food Processing Unit (FPU) at Khingkular Azakeh VLO, Amahator Town, Kiphire on January 14.
In his speech, the Union Minister said that the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi is very concerned for the development of the nation both in Agri product and Non-Agri product like food processing unit and to promote SHGs for sustainable economy in the country.
After the visit, the Union Minister and his entourage traveled back to the District Hospital, Kiphire and had interaction with the Doctors and medical staff.
