Ongoing road maintenance work under NHIDCL in Kohima along National Highway 29 Phesama-Khuzama gate has met with dissatisfaction of the public compelling the frontal organization to issue a complaint to the concerned authorities.

The Southern Angami Public Organization (SAPO) today in a letter addressed to the Deputy General Manager, National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. (NHIDCL), Nagaland drew attention to the ‘poor maintenance of repairing ongoing work carried out’ under the supervision and instruction of the NHIDCL.

It stated that the work being carried out “were not within the agreed performance and satisfaction,” calling for intervention at the earliest “according to the specified quality specification.”

“It is to be urgently noted and address that the execution of road repairing within NH-29 Kohima– Mao had failed to achieve any quality workmanship making it sub- standard road. This road, which has recently been freshly carpeted, has now coming off within hardly days of revamp,” the organization stated.

Adding that it would not remain a ‘mere spectator’ and compromise on the work quality, SAPO cautioned that it would “take its own course of action within its jurisdiction.”

SAPO President informed The Morung Express over the phone that if their demand is not met, the organization would not allow the NHIDCL to issue the clearance certificate to the contractor or whoever is undertaking the work.
