The Assam-based Bhadra IAS Academy, a centre specialising in preparing aspirants for the highly competitive civil services examinations has opened a branch in Dimapur. The branch, located at Kai Building, near Faith Hospital, was inaugurated by the Advisor for Industries & Commerce, Hekani Jakhalu Kense on July 15.
Drawing from her long experience of 17 years, working with the youth of Nagaland, she noted that there has been a strong inclination among the youth in the state to appear for civil services exams. However, she said that clearing the civil services exams should not be the first and only career choice. Instead, she said that the youth should be driven by a genuine resolve to serve, rather than succumbing to societal pressures to hold a post in the government.
Emphasising the odds of clearing the highly competitive exams, she recollected the Nagaland Staff Selection Board exams 2023 wherein over 50,000 candidates applied for some 600 posts.
She held that success in such exams, for a limited number of posts, require utmost dedication and rigorous study routine.
Acknowledging the rise of coaching centres for the civil services in Nagaland, Hekani expressed confidence that the Bhadra IAS Academy’s success in Assam would be replicated in Nagaland as well. While recognizing the business aspect of the centre, she maintained that its financial success would depend on good results.
