UIDIC meeting for 2024 held in Nagaland

Kohima, October 30 (MExN): Unique Identification Implementation Committee (UIDIC) meeting for the year 2024 was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary, Jan E Alam, IAS, Government of Nagaland at Kohima on October 29.

A press release received here stated that Commodore Dhiraj Sareen, DDG, UIDAI, RO Guwahati, Colonel Abhishek Koushik, Director, UIDAI Regional Office Guwahati and other functionaries attended the meeting on behalf of UIDAI along-with Departmental Heads of the State Government.   

A detailed presentation was given by Colonel Abhishek Koushik covering the action taken report on points from the previous meeting and the progress made by the State in Aadhaar enrolment, Updates and Usage. The presentation also covered points discussed during the Quarterly District Level Meetings. During the course of the meeting, detailed discussions were held on measures needed to improve Aadhaar saturation, Enrolment of Newborns through Birth Registration Based Aadhaar Enrolment (BRBAE) and reduction of pendency in Mandatory Biometric Updates for children between 5-7 and 15-17 years. 

Commodore Dhiraj Sareen, DDG RO Guwahati emphasized the need to increase saturation in Aadhaar enrolment to bring it inline with the national average and suggested that this may be undertaken commencing in Districts with the lowest saturation. He also highlighted the need to increase enrolment of newborns using BRBAE. 

The meeting concluded with the Chief Secretary directing the Heads of Departments to formulate a plan in consultation with UIDAI RO Guwahati to ensure achievement of these targets in a time bound manner and bring the State abreast with the national average in terms of Aadhaar saturation.
