Dimapur, September 20 (MExN): The Nagaland Education Project – The Lighthouse (NECTAR) has invited applications for the second batch of Performance Incentive Grants for government schools in the state.
In a press release on Monday, Project Director Thavaseelan K informed that a total of 738 schools were shortlisted for the first installment and the activities are being implemented in the schools. He said that the Grant is being made available for all the 1939 Government Schools in Nagaland in three batches over a two year period. (See table for details)
According to the Project Director, the Grant is aimed at capacity building, enhancing participation, and promoting commitment of School Management Committees (SMC) and School Management and Development Committees (SMDC). “Focusing on the strong culture of community led development in Nagaland, the Nagaland Education Project – The Lighthouse (NECTAR), a project funded by the World Bank emphasizes to reinforce the relevance of ‘communitisation’ of schools and strengthen the community’s role as guardians of public institutions,” he stated in the release.
The release stated that SMCs and SMDCs can apply from September 20. The forms are available for downloading on nagalandeduproject.com and a link is also being shared with all EBRC Co-ordinators and District Project Assistants (DPAs) to circulate to all eligible schools, it said.
Forms should be duly filled and submitted to the EBRC Co-ordinators along with the mandatory enclosures on or before October 7, 2022 for further screening and approval, it said.
