Normal classes for school children of standards 1-5 resumed today across the state with the Nagaland State Government permitting re-opening of regular sessions from March 22 onwards.
Educational institutions across Nagaland faced closure since March last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. For a long period, educational institutions have been conducting online classes.
Meanwhile, SOPs have been issued, for which teachers, employees and students have been asked to follow the same. The generic preventive measures include simple public health measures that are to be followed to reduce the risk of COVID-19.
Physical distancing of at least 6 feet should be followed and use of face covers/masks would be mandatory along with frequent hand washing with soap.
Use of hand sanitisers can be done wherever feasible, the government’s SOP directed while also emphasising on respiratory etiquettes to be strictly followed. The SOPs also prohibits spitting around.
It asked the school authorities to make seating arrangement to ensure a distance of 6 feet between chairs, desks etc and also prepare alternate day routine for classes as per the enrolment in each class and the infrastructure facilities available.
