Nagaland to host 4th Asia Music Summit 2024

Nagaland is all is all set to host 4th Asia Music Summit (AMS) 2024 from February 1 to 3 in Kohima. This is an initiative of Music Connect Asia and being hosted and co-organized by Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA), Government of Nagaland. Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will grace the opening ceremony on February 1 at Capital Cultural Hall, Kohima at 6:00 pm.

“All the preparations are on war footing,” said TaFMA Chairman Theja Meru. Stating that entry to the opening ceremony is free for all, Meru extended invitation to all the citizens of Kohima and music schools in and around Kohima and other districts to be part of the same. “I am very grateful to Chief Minister for his support, inspiration and leadership and we are doing all this under his guidance,” he said. This is the biggest music event of the state in many years, he said and thanked the state government for all the supports towards the upcoming Summit. 

Meru also thanked Abu Metha, advisor to Chief Minister of Nagaland and Chairman Investment & Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) for his inputs and wisdom and always guiding the music industry, particularly TaFMA.

Meru said the Summit is going to be three day of “Knowledge Extravaganza” wherein 10-12 festival directors from around the world, will be sharing their expertise.

Registration for delegates will be opened at 3:00 PM at Capital Cultural Hall Kohima on February 1 and it will continue to open for interested delegates at RCEMPA on February 2 from 8:30 onwards.

Even if people are not registered online, they can also register on the spot, Meru said.

12 countries confirm for Summit
So far, 12 countries have confirmed their participation for the Summit. It includes; Japan, Santiago De Chile, Ontario- Canada, Portugal, Italy, Jordan, Thailand, South Korea, Indonesia, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh and host India.

It is very big and important event and I feel that the music fraternity and all the members especially those in music, arts, artist managers, event managers, promoters will gain so much, TaFMA chairman said, adding “I encourage everybody to join us.”

The aim of the Summit is to provide a global platform, where the exchange and birth of ideas, and concepts will be fostered, to create exciting new partnerships within Asia and the rest of the World.

This will be one of the biggest opportunities for the musicians, agents, artist managers to congregate and interact with luminaries from the cultural music industry, festival directors, talent buyers in three days of panel discussions, live performance and one to one meetings.

This Summit is designed for Bands, Agents/Band Managers, Musicians, Music institute heads, Music teachers, Talent managers, event management companies, Music producers, Song writers, Music enthusiasts, Music labels and Music festival directors.
