‘Nagaland state has huge potential for agri-tourism’

Chümoukedima, November 5 (MExN): The Advisor BAN, CEO of Window Media and Chairman, Echahaba Tea Growers Cooperation Society Ltd, Dr Aotoshi reiterated that there is huge potential for agri-tourism in the state of Nagaland.

Addressing the 2nd session of the ongoing National Innovate Integrate Expand (NIIE) Trade Fair at the NER Agri Expo, Dr Aotoshi described the local farming practices of Nagas as unique which has been a subject of interest. According to a DIPR report, he opined that the integrated model of bringing tourism into farmlands is becoming more attractive, as more people seek to “Learn and Relax.” 

He observed that Nagaland sits in an ideal location, having both plain and hills that cater to different needs and maintained, “Whether fresh or processed, wild or farmed, the state has the potential to give the best of both.” He impressed on the need for value addition, improved logistics, and exploration of markets near and far.

The session focused on agriculture and tourism integration, infield traditional farming experience, agriculture logistics, and air cargo and connectivity. The evening session panellists were Dr Ishita Ganguli Tripathy Additional Development Commissioner, Ministry of MSME, Go Doulo Additional Director, Tourism Department, GON. Kapinjal Kishor Sharma Sr Divisional Commercial Manager, North East Frontier Railway, Som Kamei Postmaster General NE-II Pandurang Taware founder, Agri Tourism Development Corporation, Maharashtra, Ababe Ezung MD, East Air & Charter Service, Finance Secretary, BAN.
