From financial years 2018-19 to 2021-22, Nagaland received a total of Rs 315.0639 crore financial grants as financial assistance provided under Article 275 (1) of the Constitution, Special Central Assistance (SCA) and Pradhan Mantri Adi Adarsh Gram Yojana (PMAAGY), the Lok Sabha was informed on March 20.
In a written reply to query posed by Nagaland’s lone Lok Sabha representative Tokheho Yepthomi and others, the Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs, Renuka Singh Saruta informed that the amount included Rs 20916.365 lakh (or Rs 209.16 cr) under financial assistance provided under Article 275 (1) from FY 2018-19 to 2021-22.
Another Rs 9022.26 lakh (Rs 90.22 cr) was provided under SCA from 2018-19 to 2021-22.
Under PMAAGY, a total of Rs 1568.13 lakh (Rs 15.68 cr) was released to the State from FY 2021-22 to FY 2022-23.
As per the MoS’ reply, a total 48 tribal hostels have been approved for the State of Nagaland under Grants under Article 275 (1) and Special Central Assistance from FY 2018-19 to FY 2021-22.
The reply further informed that Implementation of the approved projects at the location/district submitted by the State Government and release of funds to the implementing agencies, location/district-wise, as per prescribed procedure is the responsibility of the concerned State Government.
District-wise details of work execution and current status thereof are not maintained centrally and it is maintained by respective State Government(s).
