Nagaland Postal Division joined India Post in celebration of National Postal Week from October 9 through various events.
A Customer Meet took place today at Hotel Cimorb Kohima in the presence of Postmaster General of NE-II Region, Som Kamei (IPoS). The programme witnessed the introduction of a new facility called “Dak Ghar Niryat Kendra (DNK)” which means ‘Export Facilitation Centre.’
The service aims to facilitate the small and medium business exporters, whereby with the help of the DNK software, its customers can file postal bills of exports online through the web link created for this purpose.
The documents required for upload in the DNK website are IEC, GSTIN, Aadhaar etc, where booking will be permitted only after completion of KYC documents being uploaded, he said.
Kamei informed that once the user profile has been successfully created, the user can start booking parcels in the comfort of one’s home.
When the booking is completed, the article along with a printout copy of the article being booked will be presented to the DNK Post Office for verification and dispatch.
Kamei said DNK has several advantages for the local exporters in using this facility, one which is the absence of a middleman. He said DNK minimized the customs problems as once an article is booked online, the customs office in Kolkata is immediately alerted when the customer fills in their postal bill of exports.
In case of any issues with the booking, the customer will be informed and rectification is possible before the items are sent. Pick-up facility will be provided based on the volume of transaction. He further remarked that it is an opportunity to export the Naga local products abroad.
At present, DNK centres where customers can book foreign export articles are presently established in Kohima Head Post Office, Dimapur MDG, Phek SO, Mokokchung MDG, Wokha Sub Post Office and Chümoukedima Sub Post Office.
He also said a person who wishes to export products abroad legally must have a valid GSTIN to register online and acquire the Import-Export Code (IEC) from the website of the director general of export www.dgft.gov.in for a nominal fee of Rs 500.
Earlier, felicitation for ‘Book now, Pay Later’ and Dak Ghar Niryat Kendra customers certificate was handed over by L Tiken Singh, Superintendent of Posts, Nagaland and Postmaster General of NE-II Region, Som Kamei (IPoS) respectively.
Daniel Domeh gave the detailed presentation all about the DNK & BNPL through power point slides. The programme was led by Sharon Losu.
