Pughoboto, April 13 (MExN): Casting of Postal Ballot by Absentee Voters in the category of Senior Citizens, PwDs and Essential Services under Pughoboto District was conducted by office of the ADC & DEO, Pughoboto on April 12.
House to house postal ballot for Absentee Voter PwDs (AVPD) and Absentee Voter Senior Citizen (AVSC) was overseen by Micro observer, G Noel Swu. Concurrently, Micro observer, L Khoto Chakhesang, oversaw the postal ballot for Absentee Voter Essential Services (AVES) at Postal Voting Center (PVC) facilitated by Office of the ADC & DEO at DB Hall, Pughoboto.
All electoral protocols were followed with both the Casting of Postal Ballot conducted in the presence of Election Agents/representatives from Political Parties, polling authorities and Magistrates while adequate security was provided by the SDPO, Pughoboto.
Zunheboto: To facilitate smooth and peaceful conduct of the Lok Sabha election 2024, Zunheboto DC and DEO Rahul Bhanudas Mali, IAS has restricted inter polling stations/assembly constituency movement of private vehicles under Zunheboto district on the poll day i.e. April 19 from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. The aforementioned restriction shall be applied to all the vehicle except those vehicle requisitioned for election duties viz district administration, police, press and media, CAPF, polling personnel, medical department and department exempted by the election commission of India.
Notwithstanding this order the movement for vehicle for medical exigencies and other emergencies shall be permitted only after taking prior permission from the office of the Deputy Commissioner or District Election Officer. Failing to comply with this order, strict actions shall be initiated against the defaulters and shall be booked under relevance sections of the representations of the People Act 1951.
Mokokchung: DC & DEO, Mokokchung, Thsuvisie Phoji has informed that the third phase training of all polling personnel has been scheduled on April 15.
It was informed that the training for Presiding Officer (both male and female) will conducted on April 15 from 9:30 am and training for first Polling Officers (both male and female) will be started from 12:00 pm, at Mayangnokcha GHSS, Mokokchung. Second Polling Officers (both male and female) will start from 1:00 pm and third Polling Officers (both male and female) will be started from 2:00 pm at Mayangnokcha GHSS, Mokokchung.
It further informed that all the concerned departmental Nodal Officers have been directed to inform all requisitioned officials of their respective departments regarding the aforementioned training schedule.
Strict action shall be initiated against absentees as per Section 134 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951.
Phek: The two-day 2nd Phase of Training for all categories of Polling Personnel (Presiding. PO-I, PO-2 & PO-3) for Phek district was concluded on April 11 at Government Higher Secondary School, Phek Town.
DC & DEO Phek, John Tsulise Sangtam, NCS apprising the polling officers called upon them to be attentive in the training for smooth conduct in their respective polling station, and also asked them for their cooperation as he depended on them for the success of the election. He also assured them that he was ready to address to any grievances or problems of the polling personnel.
The DC along with EAC Phek, Nenpichong Kuki, also had an interactive meeting with the Master Trainers where he expressed his gratitude and appreciation towards them for their service rendered during the whole process of the training.
Peren: Briefing of Sector and Zonal Magistrate of 6 Tening & 7 Peren was conducted at ADC Office Conference hall, Peren on April 12.
Deputy Commissioner & District Election Office, Vineet Kumar, IAS during the briefing highlighted on responsibilities such as toilets, water supply, electricity etc. in all the polling stations. He also urged them to coordinate with their respective BLO’s and also to prepared a proper map to enable the polling team to reach their polling stations and return safely. The DC& DEO also asked them to immediately inform or to come along with other official polling team vehicles if their vehicles break down on the way.
6 Tening& 7 Peren Sector & Zonal Magistrate also shared their views and their grievances for smooth conduct of the election. They assured to give their best to their assignments with outmost sacrifice for the success of election in the District.
Kohima: Office of the DC and DEO Kohima issued an order in view of the ensuing Lok Sabha Election 2024, informing all Polling Personnel that EVM/VVPAT Facilitation Centre has been set up in the DC office (Establishment Branch-Ground floor) w.e.f April 15 to 17 to clear any doubts related to poll day/procedures etc. The timing for the facilitation centre will be from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm as per the dates mentioned above. All polling officials have been encouraged to avail the services of the facilitation centre to clear their doubts, if any.
