Nagaland Gov urges people to uphold hard earned peace

Kohima, August 15 (MExN): In his address to the people of Nagaland on the eve of the 77th Indian Independence Day, Governor La Ganesan emphasized the crucial role of peace in Nagaland’s progress, urging all citizens to uphold the hard-earned peace and maintain the momentum of development. He envisioned a bright and beautiful future for the state and encouraged everyone to embrace it for the sake of the younger generation.

The Governor called upon all citizens to appreciate the sacrifices made for the freedom of India. He urged everyone to nurture the spirit of patriotism and national integration.

Governor Ganesan expressed optimism about India’s economic trajectory, projecting the nation to become the 3rd largest economy by 2031. He praised the resilience of India’s governance and justice delivery systems, essential elements of a robust democracy that have stood the test of time. The Governor noted the ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure, particularly in the field of transportation, which is poised to power India’s march towards prosperity, thereby benefiting states like Nagaland.

Reflecting on Nagaland’s journey since 1947, the Governor acknowledged that the state faced initial challenges, but has witnessed relative peace in recent years, leading to a boost in economic growth. He emphasized the need to prioritize human resources, advocating for the development of a strong health and education sector to ensure a healthy and educated citizenry. The Governor hailed the forthcoming inauguration of the state’s medical college as a significant step towards enhancing the healthcare sector.

The Governor also underscored the importance of connectivity for equitable development, highlighting the progress in road construction and the ambitious plans for future projects. He highlighted the development of the Dimapur Railway Station, a project initiated under the Amrit Bharat Scheme, with the potential to catalyze tourism and infrastructural growth in the state.
