Meanwhile, the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) declared their second list of candidates for the polls. The list issued by Mukul Wasnik, General Secretary, Incharge, CEC, listed out 4 candidates. This is in addition to the 21 earlier candidates who got the party ticket on February 4.

The tickets were handed out by NPF President, Dr Shürhozelie Liezietsu at the party central office on February 5. This takes the number of NPF candidates to 21 as of now. A press release from the NPF press bureau informed that more tickets are expected to be issued on February 6.

During the ticket distribution programme, the NPF President said that the party is facing a temporary setback as it could not participate in all the 60 Assembly Constituencies. “But the party is of the opinion that his service for the party is more required than contesting the election and keeping in mind the requirement of his service , the party is requesting him not to contest and so the ticket may not be issued to him,” it stated.
