DIMAPUR, SEP 8 (NPN): Nagaland on Tuesday registered 25 COVID positive cases, taking the tally to 4245 cases.
In a tweet, Health minister, S. Pangnyu Phom said 21 cases were reported in Kohima, 2 in Mon and 1 each in Mokokchung and Kiphire. Till September 8, there were 496 active cases, 3728 recovered, 10 deaths and 11 migrated. As per the severity of symptoms, 485 active cases are asymptomatic, 8 mild and 3 moderate cases.
Further, out of the 4,245 positive cases, the distribution across various categories of people include 1823 from the Armed Forces, 1312 returnees, 309 frontline workers and 801 traced contacts.
India’s COVID tally nears 43L
PTI: Recording over 90,000 new cases for two days in a row, India’s COVID-19 tally rose by 75,809 in the last 24 hours to reach 42,80,422 on Tuesday, while a record 1,133 fatalities took the death toll to 72,775, the Health ministry data showed.
During the same period, the number of recoveries surged to 33,23,950 pushing the recovery rate to 77.65%, according to the data updated at 8 am on Tuesday. The COVID-19 case fatality rate stands at 1.7%. According to the data, there are 8,83,697 active cases of coronavirus infection in the country which comprise 20.65 per cent of the total caseload.
India’s COVID tally crossed the 20-lakh mark on August 7, reached 30 lakh on August 23 and went past 40 lakh on September 5.
