2 more deaths in Dimapur district

DIMAPUR, AUG 5 (NPN): Nagaland on Wednesday registered 93 fresh COVID-19 positive cases, taking the total tally to 2498 cases– 1 804 active, 685 recovered, 7 deaths and 2 migrated.

 

According to Health department’s data, 6 deaths were due to COVID-19 and 1 COVID positive, but death not due to COVID-19.

 

Out of 93 fresh cases, 89 (1 retest positive) were reported from Dimapur and 5 from Kohima. As per the severity of symptoms, all 1804 active cases were asymptomatic.

 

As per the ‘status update’ of the Health department on August 5, 59 cases were reported from among the armed forces (Dimapur- 58 and Kohima-1), returnees- 14, traced contacts- 19 and others- 1.

 

Further, out of the 2,498 positive cases, the distribution across various categories of people include– 1,078 cases from Armed Forces/Para Military, Returnees-1045, Frontline workers- 167, Traced Contacts- 174 and Others- 34.

 

2 more deaths: Two more COVID-19 related deaths were reported from Dimapur on August 4 and 5. According to official sources, a 69-year old man who had health issues, died at the COVID-19 hospital Dimapur on August 4. The deceased had tested positive for COVID through TrueNat and RT-PCR report awaited.

 

Another person, a woman (around 40 years) died on August 5 morning in Dimapur. According to sources, the woman had tested positive through TrueNat and RT-PCR report awaited. With this, the number of deaths (all from Dimapur) rose to 12.

 

Raj Bhavan staff test positive: Two Raj Bhavan staff were tested positive for COVID 19 and were shifted to the Covid Care Centre.

 

Informing this in a tweet, Raj Bhavan Kohima stated that except for two the rest have tested negative and all COVID SOP put in place.
